What changes the price of a repipe?
Size of Home
A larger house requires more piping and more labor hours. A multistory house adds vertical drops, which require additional materials and time.Number of Fixtures
Sinks, toilets, dishwashers, showers, water heaters, washing machines, hose bibs — each fixture adds materials and connections. Most Houston homes have 8 to 14 fixtures.Accessibility
Slab vs pier-and-beam, attic clearance, second-story access — the harder it is to reach existing pipes, the more labor time. Slab homes can require strategic wall openings.Material Choice
Every WDR repipe uses Uponor PEX-A interior and Type-L American-made copper at the main entry. Optional all-copper interior is available for premium projects. Why Houston-owned beats national repipe franchises
Most repipe brands you see online are national franchises that subcontract to local plumbers. Here’s how that compares to a Houston-owned, owner-operated company:
| We Do Repipes | National Repipe Franchises | |
|---|---|---|
| Houston-based, owner-operated | ✓ | National HQ, local subcontractor |
| In House Repipe & Drywall Specialists | ✓ | Different subs hired per project |
| Master plumber license shown publicly | ✓ | Hidden or not displayed |
| Real team photos with names | ✓ | Stock graphics or none |
| Written upfront price — no surprise upcharges | ✓ | Common post-job add-ons |
| Drywall + paint included | ✓ | Sometimes, varies by sub |
| Warranty | 10-yr labor + 25-yr Uponor | “Lifetime” with hard-to-enforce fine print |
| Promo | 40% off, applied at quote | “Spring savings” running year-round |
| Houston volume since 2016 | 5,000+ repipes | National, not local |

Houston repipe FAQ
How long does a Houston repipe take?
Most homes are done in 1 day. Larger or two-story homes take 1–2 days. The water is shut off only during active install — typically 4–6 hours total.Do I have to leave my home during a repipe?
No. You can stay in your home. We work around your schedule and keep at least one bathroom or kitchen sink usable during install whenever possible. Will my walls be torn up?
We make strategic, planned wall openings — not random demolition. After the new lines are in, our drywall crew patches and paints. Most customers say you can’t tell anything happened.Does homeowners insurance cover a repipe?
Sometimes. Most policies cover damage from leaks but not the repipe itself. If a leaking polybutylene or galvanized line caused water damage, file a claim — we can provide documentation for the adjuster. What’s the difference between PEX-A and copper?
Every WDR repipe uses both: Uponor PEX-A inside the walls and Type-L American-made copper at the main service entry. PEX-A is flexible, freeze-resistant, and lasts 50+ years. Copper handles the high-pressure main run.Do you pull permits and handle inspections?
Yes. Every job includes city permits and city inspection — pulled under our master plumber license. What if I have polybutylene pipes?
Polybutylene (the gray, blue, or black plastic pipe installed in many Houston homes built 1978–1995) fails over time. We replace polybutylene with Uponor PEX-A as a whole-house repipe — most polybutylene homes finish in 1 day.How do I know if I need a repipe?
Common signs: visible leaks, low water pressure, brown or rusty water, repeated pinhole leaks, slab leaks, polybutylene or galvanized pipes. If you’ve had two or more pipe repairs in the last year, a repipe is usually cheaper than the next repair. What areas of Houston do you service?
All of Greater Houston: inside the Loop, Memorial, Bellaire, West University, Sugar Land, Katy, Cinco Ranch, Cypress, The Woodlands, Spring, Kingwood, Pearland, Missouri City, Conroe, League City, Pasadena, Humble, Baytown. What’s the warranty?
10-year labor warranty + 25-year Uponor PEX-A manufacturer warranty. Combined coverage is one of the longest in the Houston market.0% interest for 18 months — Wells Fargo Home Improvement Financing
